>>> A P O P T Y G M A   B E R Z E R K

A norwegian futurepop band.
Discovered thank to Kimberly Kubus (used in his game 'Johnny 11').
For many years I only listened to a few songs, later I checked out their whole discography, it's OK, not great and not bad.

1993 :: Soli Deo Gloria

Recommended. Darker atmosphere and muddier sound / vocals in comparison to the rest, but I can recommend it. Some songs even remind me of early Project Pitchfork. 'ARP (808 Edit)' is a glimpse into the future, so if you don't care for the gothic stuff, it's the only track you need to hear.

1996 :: 7

Not Recommended. A weak follow up. There's 3 awesome songs here, the rest I can't vouch for. Those 3 songs got me into the band, so I think they're some of their best. I'll also highlight 'Rebel', it's an enjoyable slow track. I tried to enjoy the rest of the album on several occasions, but each time it was rather disappointing.

2000 :: Welcome To Earth

Recommended. A masterpiece in all ways that it can possibly be. It kicks in and immediately sends you flying into the orbit, the tracklist is perfectly tailored so that the album keeps a good flow, there's variation and it's done well (both slower and faster songs fit in), and even the questionable decision to cover Metallica's 'Fade to Black' works well enough. A legendary futurepop album, I can't get enough of it.

2002 :: Harmonizer

Recommended. Many consider this one to be their best, but I think it's second to 'Welcome To Earth'. It kicks off strong and delivers well in many of the same ways as the previous album, but there are a few weak tracks worth skipping.
# More Serotonin Please / Suffer In Silence

# Until The End Of The World

2005 :: You And Me Against The World

Not Recommended. Terrible. A sudden change of style - all pop and no future. They even covered a Kim Wilde song...
# None

2009 :: Rocket Science

Not Recommended. If it weren't an APOP album, I'd have turned it off after the first 2 songs. Dull pop music. The album cover is a reflection of the songs - generic and forgettable art of that era. There's only 1 decent song.
# Shadow

2019 :: [COMPILATION] :: SDGXXV

Not Recommended. No comment, you can ignore it.
