Angel Witch
Frontal Assault (1986)
Hands down, the best heavy metal album of all time. There's no other atmospheric album like it, it's very dark. "Dream World" and "She Don't Lie" are my favorite tracks.
Praying Mantis
Predator In Disguise (1991)
Melodic metal, maybe AOR type stuff. Really good. "Can't See The Angels", "This Time Girl" and "Only You" are the best tracks here but just like the other albums here it's amazing in it's entirety.
Iron Maiden
Piece Of Mind (1983)
I don't know why others pick Number Of The Beast or Powerslave over this one. I can't stand most of the songs on either of those two... Anyways, sick record, a good listen in hot sunny weather, but feels out of place in winter.
Accept
Balls To The Wall (1983)
Ahh hell yeah, here we go. "Head Over Heels" is my favorite here, what a bad ass album. Starts off tough but shifts towards ballads by the end.
Winger
Winger (1988)
My favorite glam album. If you are ignoring this band because of Stewart then you're missing out.
Def Leppard
Hysteria (1987)
Has a couple of weak songs, a couple of mind-blowing ones and a lot of good stuff. Rocket, yeah!!!
Motley Crue
Shout At The Devil (1983)
Amazing, especially for 1983.
聖飢魔Ⅱ
The End Of The Century (1986)
Atmospheric. Got me into Japanese metal bands.
Mercyful Fate
Don't Break The Oath (1984)
A unique sound & take on vocals.
Anthem
Hunting Time (1989)
More Japanese stuff, though the lyrics use a lot of English. Amazing.
Children Of Bodom
Hatebreeder (1999)
Full of magic and energy. There's nothing like it out there.
Fjordfader
Fjordfader (2011)
I tried listening to various viking metal albums and whatnot, but none of them sound good. Sorry but bathory is not for me. This, however, is a real deal, unfortunately it is their only release, and only has a few songs. But to be fair, they reached perfection here, so no more releases are needed.
Praying Mantis
Forever In Time (1998)
If the synths on the first track don't make you go "yeah this is the good stuff" then I dunno, listen to something else. What did you expect?
Overkill
The Years Of Decay (1989)
The only thrash metal band that reeeally gets my blood pumpin'. The slow track in the middle is quite a curveball but don't skip it or the skull bat will devour your soul.
Judas Priest
Judas Priest (1990)
I don't care for British Steel or most of their output, but here they really went nuts.
Accept
Russian Roulette (1986)
Very fun. Aiming high!!!
Fear Factory
Demanufacture (1995)
Industrial metal. What the hell is that? I'm not sure, but the album is quite a treat. "Zero Signal" and "A Therapy For Pain" are the best.
Iron Maiden
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (1988)
This one used to be my contender for their #1 record, but it lost to Piece Of Mind. Nevertheless, it's the kind of Maiden I like to hear.
Iron Maiden
Fear Of The Dark (1992)
I listened to it more back in the day, "Judas Be My Guide" and "From Here To Eternity" are really fun, it doesn't have any bad songs but I don't feel like playing it too much.
Iron Maiden
The X Factor (1995)
Maiden fans.. Step down because this is their last truly good album. The refined Fear Of The Dark sound with a new vocalist. "Fortunes Of War" and "Sign Of The Cross" are my favorites. Anyways, after this maiden went senile, though Virtual 11 does have a decent song or two. And yes, I do like "The Angel And The Gambler".
Iron Maiden
Somewhere In Time (1986)
I like it, in fact, the first 2 tracks, plus "Stranger In A Strange Land" and "Deja Vu" are great. But I have never ever thought to myself "Ah shit let's blast 'Alexander The Great'!".
